she welcomes the first greeting by the open window eyes closed, silent anticipation on her lips the clouds part and give her hope for strength, for another day she doesn't move until noon when the doorbell jolts her awake and her heartbeat drowns out the ringing she welcomes her father with just enough warmth her hands reach out toward the sunset begging not for escape, only colours but the pulsating stench has blocked all exits she can only welcome the darkness midnight her tears illuminate the room she will radiate enough for the survival of two but the dawn will leave her empty she will welcome the first greeting with her last breath

the staccato humming of your pulse making it hard to think the dark veil draped over your eyelids making it hard to see the tense muscles in your stomach making it hard to breathe your shoulders rise and you inhale the darkness its poisonous whispers reverberating in your chest repeating like a deadly mantra there’s no escape give in give up your senses are heightened yet completely useless inevitably suffocating in this pitch black tar its sticky fingers crawl up your neck you raise your head to escape the unavoidable they reach your chin, your closed mouth a cold, sharp finger pulls at your bottom lip blood that's the last thing

what's the point flowers wither songs end lights eventually go out they tell me to keep fighting he tells me i'm his flower but does he not know that i don't bloom in winter? they remind me i have a purpose he tells me i'm his melody but every single one has an end, but a purpose?
